DANCE LOVE IN BLOOM: Valentines Ball And Awards 2024

As the curtains draw to a close on another spectacular event, we find ourselves overwhelmed with gratitude and admiration for each and every one of you who made our annual Valentines Ball and Awards an unforgettable celebration of talent, dedication, and unity. Your unwavering support, boundless enthusiasm, and energy illuminated the ballroom and filled our hearts with joy. From graceful Waltz to a fiery Paso, every step, twirl, and leap showcased the passion and commitment that define our beloved dance community.

The presentation of WC Regional Colours to our exceptional dancers, and the recognition of the outstanding achievements of our representatives at the Rumba in the Jungle™ and South African Championships™, served as a beautiful reminder of the remarkable talent and tenacity within our midst. Each accolade bestowed was a testament to your hard work, perseverance, and unwavering spirit.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every dancer, coach , and the WC Regional Committee who contributed to the success of the Valentines Ball and Awards. Your dedication and passion inspire us all to reach greater heights and strive for excellence in everything we do.

Let us carry the spirit of unity, celebration, and appreciation with us as we embark on the journey ahead, knowing that together, we can achievement. Heartfelt thanks to all.

DANCE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS| Human Rights Festival, 23 March 2024

Join us in celebrating the beauty of diversity and the power of unity at our
annual Human Rights Festival at Oaklands High School Auditorium on 23 March 2024.       

Calling all members of the Dance Community to come together and showcase the richness of our cultures through movement and rhythm. This festival is more than just a gathering, it's a celebration of human dignity, equality, and justice for all. Let's dance for freedom, for inclusion, and for the rights of every individual to live a life of respect and dignity. Together, we can amplify the message of Human Rights and inspire positive change in our communities.

This marks the kickoff for you to earn points for WC Regional Colours. The strict Entry closing date is 13 March 2024.

STEP INTO RHYTHM 2024: Unveiling the Spectacular SADF Dance Calendar

Dear Dance Community

We are absolutely delighted to socialise our Calendar of Events for 2024, jampacked with a plethora of competitions and inclusive of the World Dance Council events. We are proud that the Foundation remains the Official and Founder member of the World Dance Council.

We are immensely pleased to have successfully hosted an all inclusive Open to the World Rumba in the Jungle™ featuring the South African Championships™ (SAODC™) and applaud the SA Champions. Additionally, we successfully hosted 4 Super Series, Cup Competitions, multiple Dance Festivals, Valentines Ball, Talent Shows and Congresses. We proudly acknowledge the 24 dancers who were awarded South African Colours and the dancers and Adjudicators that flew the SA Flag internationally. A Big shoutout and heartfelt thanks to our amazing Sponsors for 2023, your support is the real dance floor that makes our events come alive!

We plan to send a team of dancers to represent South Africa at the WDC World Championships, WDC AL World Championships, Dutch Open.... watch the space for more information!!!

We are excited to reinstate our annual events and warmly invite you to be part of our 2024 Dance Journey to enjoy the above mentioned benefits. As a caring Foundation, it is our goal to unify Dance by creating a Fully inclusive platform that is Open to ALL Associations, ALL Dancers, ALL Dance Styles. We encourage you to renew your annual SADF membership and join our progressive Dance Association. The registration deadline is extended to 31 January 2024. Only members registered by the cutoff date are eligible to officiate the first half of the year in sanctioned events. As we wrap up on another year, take a moment to reflect on our amazing accomplishments and
enjoy the holiday season.

We are immensely pleased to have successfully hosted an all inclusive Open to the World Rumba in the Jungle™ featuring the biggest South African Open Dance Championships™, the ProAm South African Dance Championships™ , 4 Super Series Dancesport Championships™, Cup Competitions,
multiple Festivals and 5 Development Congresses,

We proudly acknowledge the 24 dancers who were awarded South African Colours. We celebrate the success of our dancers  who competed internationally in World Championships and flew the SA flag proudly. We had 3 Adjudicators officiating at International and World Championships in 2023.

We warmly invite you to renew your membership by 31 December 2023  and join a progressive
Dance Association with international affiliation to the World Dance Council & WDC AL.

APPRECIATION AND RESULTS: Rumba In The Jungle™ , 7-10 December 2023

Heartfelt appreciation for your wonderful support of the spectacular Rumba in the Jungle™ featuring the South African Open Dance Championships™.  It was heartwarming to witness in excess of 500 dancers from Botswana, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal, Lesotho, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Western Cape - approximately 60 Dance Studios in the vibrant city of Mahikeng across 4 jam packed days. This was a magical experience against the backdrop of Mmabatho Civic Centre and marks a significant achievement for the Open to the World Dancesport Championships™ in tough economic times.

The Rumba in the Jungle™ pillars comprising of of Dance Championships, Fashion, Craft, Development, Tourism and Broadcasting continues to present a compelling value proposition that extends beyond the borders of the North West Province. The Fashion Showcases were a highlight and displayed the talent from the Region beautifully. The partnership with our Sponsors contributed to the events success and we express our sincere gratitude to the strong partnerships.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback and insights shared with all the excitement on Social Media. We sincerely appreciate all the feedback received.

Rumba in the Jungle™ and South African Open Dance Championships™ unite

We are thrilled to take you back memory lane in 2008 when Rumba In The Jungle™️ and the South African Open Dance Championships™️ collaborated to bring you an unforgettable experience.
15 years later, we return with this magical collaboration at the very same Mmabatho Convention Centre!!!

This promises to be an event filled with elegance, creativity, and electrifying performances.
Open to the World, all Dancers, all Associations.

Taking it to the capital city of Bokone Bophirima, we are heading again to Mmabatho, Mahikeng from 7-10th December 2023!!

Be sure not to miss this fantastic Dancesport Championship and prepare for a fiery hot experience!

NW SuperStars Super Series Dancesport Championships™, 5 August 2023

The prestigious NW SuperStars Super Series (NWSS) Dancesport Championships™ is staged annually by the South African Dance Foundation. This Super Series marks the closure of the Super Series Birthday celebration. We are celebrating 10 years of excellence of providing a fully inclusive dance platform.

The Championship is recognised by the World Dance Council. NWSS is Open to the ALL Dance Associations, allowing all dancers, regardless of Affiliation, to participate on the basis of their freedom of association and freedom of expression.

The Dancesport Championships™ is the Super Series selection event for couples to accrue  points in lieu of South African (SA) Colours. The SA Colours are awarded annualy at the OFFICIAL South African Open Dance Championships™ . 

The Championship attracts competitors and spectators from all over South Africa including our neighbouring states – Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe.

Freedom Day Dancesport Championships™, 22 April 2023, Gauteng

The Freedom Day Championships™ is hosted annually by the South African Dance Foundation and is Open ALL dancers, ALL Association in the spirit of Freedom to Dance. The Dancesport Championships™ is part of the Super Series and is WDC Recognised. Dancers accumulate points in lieu of South African Colours, which are awarded annually.
