Heartfelt appreciation for your wonderful support of the spectacular Rumba in the Jungle™ featuring the South African Open Dance Championships™. It was heartwarming to witness in excess of 500 dancers from Botswana, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal, Lesotho, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Western Cape - approximately 60 Dance Studios in the vibrant city of Mahikeng across 4 jam packed days. This was a magical experience against the backdrop of Mmabatho Civic Centre and marks a significant achievement for the Open to the World Dancesport Championships™ in tough economic times.
The Rumba in the Jungle™ pillars comprising of of Dance Championships, Fashion, Craft, Development, Tourism and Broadcasting continues to present a compelling value proposition that extends beyond the borders of the North West Province. The Fashion Showcases were a highlight and displayed the talent from the Region beautifully. The partnership with our Sponsors contributed to the events success and we express our sincere gratitude to the strong partnerships.

Rumba in the Jungle™ is going to a new level !!! We are super excited to announce that the pride of Africa, Rumba in the Jungle™, is launching on 9 October 2021 at Sun City and is happening in two legs in 2022 i.e. First Leg is DIGITAL on 17 – 20 February 2022 for the very first time AND the Second Leg is back ONSITE 13 – 16 October 2022. Both Legs are Open to the World, ALL Associations, ALL Dancers.

We are super proud to announce that RITJ 2018 is taking place on 19-21 October 2018 at the iconic Sun City.
After engagement with ALL our stakeholders including the World Dance Council, we decided to reschedule from our initial planned date to October 2018 due to circumstances beyond our control. We trust this will afford the dance community the opportunity to participate in this spectacular competition, which is Open to the World. ALL Associations; ALL Dancers, ALL genres are welcome to participate in the true spirit of Freedom to Dance.

Dear Dancing Community
Rumba in the Jungle is happening on 3-6 August 2017 at Sun City. The competition is OPEN to ALL Dancers from ALL Associations and is sanctioned by Freedom to Dance. There are in excess of 20 genres/dance styles competing in both the Sun City Superbowl and Kings Ballroom. Slavik Kryklyvyy and Karina Smirnoff in addition to Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyeva will be demonstrating at the premier gala event. The Dutch Trio will manage the main Programme.
Entries are closing on 30 June 2017. Do not miss an exciting opportunity to compete with international competition at a world class venue.
