We were very pleased with the resounding success of FIRST ever WDC AL Championship at Ratanga Junction in the Western Cape and thank you for ALL for your compliments and messages of appreciation. The Championship was supported by the various Dance Associations in South Africa and created a platform for unity and Freedom to Dance. We will be hosting another WDC AL Championship this year and endeavour to making it another memorable experience for the South African community. We encourage the dance community to support the WDC Series Championships and can assist with facilitating entry, our Travel Partner (Student Flights) can manage your trip and we pleased to announce we managed to arrange discounted entry fees for the 2015 WDC AL World Championship in Paris for registered SADF members. We are very pleased to announce we have remained consistent with the dates of the Super Series Championships, which are now in its FOURTH year of existence. The SADF Super Series has been extremely successful drawing top talent from ALL Regions in South Africa and are qualifiers for the much sought after National Colours which carry the WDC AL logo for the Amateurs. The Freedom Day Championship is the first Championship and will be hosted in Gauteng on 23 April and is an absolute MUST DO CHAMPIONSHIP on the Calendar. We are very excited to announce that we hosting a Dance Camp is Western Cape on 2 - 6 April and invite all Regions and Faculties to support it, which will be facilitated by World, European and Ten Dance Champion, Andrej Skufca. This will allow us to expedite the much needed development in South Africa. Social WC has also created a wonderful networking opportunity for all studios on a Dance Cruise on 29 April - 1 May on the MSC Simfonia and extended it to the wider dance community. It promises to be a super exciting social not to be missed event. This was advertised and arranged in 2015 already and we cannot wait for this magical voyage........we promise to share pictures of our experiences..... To benefit from ALL of the above exciting opportunities, please ensure you are registered with the SADF. There will be wonderful opportunities that we will offer to SADF registered Amateurs, Professionals and Studios and encourage you to join our progressive Foundation which offers a plethora of opportunities to the dance community. It was memorable celebration of world class dancing and we will fondly remember the awesome demonstrations by World Champions Andrej Skufca & Melinda and Gerrie & Amor. Having Andrej and Melinda present, united the dance community and is a positive stride towards freedom and unity in dance. We thank the esteemed panel of Adjudicators and key Officials for playing a pivotal role in the Championship. Thanks to the WC LOC, Photography and Videography for supporting the Championship. WDC AL CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE: Andrej Skufka and Melinda & Gerrie Van Rooyen and Amor Kruger will be demonstrating at this super exciting Championship. JCB PhotographY will be on site during the day to capture your precious memories. Extreme Video will be recording the whole Championship which will be shared on television in due course. Dress for the gala is strictly formal and smart casual during the day. Limited reserved seating is available (only 3 tables) and 12 tables have been reserved!!!! We strongly encourage our dance community attending the competition to pre-book ALL spectator seating. Ratanga will be open to general public. We do not want any members to wait in long queues. Ratanga typically has 5 000 visitors per/day and we are allowing for 1 000 members. There is a SADF Ticket Box for dance community, but the registration process could be impacted by the high volume of persons visiting the Theme Park. Unreserved seating is R120 p/p and reserved seating is R400 p/p (3 course meal). Dancers who have entered the Championship are welcome to reserve a table seat at an additional R250 per/dancer. Ratanga Theme Park fees will be R150 (>1.3m tall) and R79 (<1.3m tall). This is separate to the SADF registration and Entry fees. Kindly note members are not allowed to bring food or beverage to Ratanga. There are various Food stalls which will service the dance community. there will be limited Food and Drinks Vendor open in the evening as the Theme Park closes at 17h00 for general Park visitors. You are most welcome to visit Canal Walk food court (5 mins aways) which is open until 22h00 for more food options. Parking at the venue is R20 per/vehicle. Please retain your armband if you exit the venue during the day. There are still lesson available by Andrej and Melinda to dancers at R1 800 per 45mins (25-27 November). Lessons are available after 10h00 in the morning. Please reserve a lesson in advance. Do not miss out an amazing opportunity to train with the best. We have scheduled a Dance Congress for the Sunday, 29 November starting at 10h00. The Flyer for the Congress will be circulated by the weekend. Dear Valued Dancing Community The much awaited Entry form for the prestigious South African Open Dance Championships, WDC AL Open to the World Championship is attached. The Championship is Open to ALL dancers from ALL Association and will be run in the spirit of Freedom to Dance. The genres included are Ballroom, Latin American, Solo Latin, Hip Hop, Traditional Dance. WDC Music Tempi will be observed and can be obtained from SADF Head Office. The strict deadline date for Entries is 31 October 2015 and no late entries will be accepted. There are only 15 table seats available. Table bookings will only be confirmed on payment. The table seating is around the floor (TIER 1) and includes dinner. You are most welcome to advertise in the programme, an A5 Ad is R500 and an A4 Ad is R1 000. Vendors wishing to showcase their merchandise to the dancing community can do so at R1 000 per Stall/per day. Ads with supporting graphics and Stalls are due by strict deadline of 31 October 2015. Dancers wishing to enjoy the Ratanga Theme Park rides, should please book centrally with SADF Head Office by 31 October 2015. The rides will be discounted depending on size of the group.
