Dear Dancing Community On behalf of the Board Directors, allow me to extend compliments of the season to each and everyone of you and wish you a blessed year of dance. We celebrated a successful year of dance in 2016 with positive growth in genres and studios joining the SADF. This would not have been possible without your continued support and we warmly thank your involvement and being part of Our Incredible Dance Journey. We look forward to another memorable year of great dancing in the spirit of Freedom to Dance. We are extremely excited to share the exciting Calendar of Events with you, which is jam packed with exciting Competitions, Workshops, Development Congresses, Indaba’s, WDC and WDC AL World Series events. We encourage the dance community to support the WDC Series Championships and can assist with facilitating entry. We are very pleased to announce we have remained consistent with the dates of the Super Series Championships, which are now in its FIFTH year of existence. The SADF Super Series has been extremely successful drawing top talent from ALL Regions in South Africa and are qualifiers for the much sought after National Colours. The SADF National Competitive Commiitee resolved to extend National Colours to additional genres like Solo Ballroom and Latin starting 2017 and incrementally extend it to include other genres over the next few years in line with growth and development strategy. The revised Competitive Rules for 2017 will be shared in the upcoming period with genres impacted and other rule changes. Our brand has grown phenomenally in the last few years allowing us to proudly host the return of Rumba in the Jungle at the newly revamped Sun City on 3-6 August 2017. Rumba in the Jungle is an international dance production bringing together the dancer, the dance community and public into a production and elevates our core talent to the SA and international community in a positive manner. Rumba in the Jungle is OPEN to ALL dancers from ALL Associations and will be run in line with Freedom to Dance principles. We will be hosting our South African Open Dance Championships, which will be WDC AL sanctioned this year on 2-3 December at the Mmabatho Convention Centre. We have remained consistent with the date of the SA Championship which is the week before the WDC AL Open to World Championships in Paris. We have a proven track record of hosting many successful dance championships like the Leopard Challenge at the Mmabatho Convention Centre and we extremely proud to be back in the NW province. We have already renewed our WDC Annual Membership for 2017 ahead of the WDC cutoff of 31 January 2017 and are happy to report that we remain the Official Member of the World Dance Council in South Africa. The WDC is very strict with non aderence to cutoff dates and I encourage members with WDC Competitor and Adjudicator licenses to renew now to remain in good standing. To benefit from ALL of the above exciting opportunities, please ensure you are registered with the SADF. There will be wonderful opportunities that we will offer to SADF registered Amateurs, Professionals and Studios and encourage you to join our progressive Foundation which offers a plethora of opportunities to the dance community. The 2017 SADF Tariffs and Registration forms are attached and also accessable via the website, www.sadancefoundation.co.za and the Social registration forms are available directly from the Social Faculty. The SADF appreciates your support and looks forward to seeing you at the SADF events in 2017. Let 2017 be a year where we leverage the successes of 2016 and take DANCE in South Africa unitedly to the next level. 2017 SADF CALENDAR OF EVENTS 20Jan17 Kind regards, Office of the CEO "Creating Unity through Dance"
